Radon Mitigation

Radon mitigation refers to the process of reducing or eliminating the presence of radon gas in buildings and other environments. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can seep into buildings through cracks in the foundation or other openings, and long-term exposure to high levels of radon can increase the risk of lung cancer.

Radon mitigation typically involves several steps, beginning with testing to determine the levels of radon gas present in the building. If high levels are detected, a plan is developed to reduce the levels of radon to safe levels. This may involve installing a radon mitigation system, which can include a variety of methods, such as sub-slab depressurization, which involves installing a ventilation system to draw the radon out from beneath the foundation of the building, or using sealants and other materials to prevent the entry of radon into the building.
